Busy Bee

This month has been crazy busy! I have not gotten the chance to sit down and scrapbook in a couple weeks!

I am a college student who is in the process of working to get my medical office assistant diploma. I am currently studying medical terminology and just had my 2nd of 2 mid term finals. I got 99% on my first one! Awaiting my mark on the next. Also did some off campus courses this month in first aid, CPR, oxygen therapy, WHMIS and universal precautions that are part of my diploma course. I am hoping after I finish this program to actually take a further couple years to take a Lab Technician program, my passion lies with science more than sitting behind a computer in an office!

I also have seems to have engrossed myself in the adventures of Eragon, which I read the first book in 3 days! I am now reading Eldest and cant seem to take myself away from it at times. I read it on the bus on the way to and from school and whenever I can fit the time in.

Things should start to slow down again soon and I can finally get back to scrapbooking and showing you all what I come up with :) Happy scrapping!

Inspired by music!!....(and mess!)

Wow, yesterday I spent hours working on one layout that took me way out of my comfort zone but I am excited by the way it turned out. This layout was for a challenge at Scrapbook Challenges that asked us to take inspiration from an album cover. It was an awesome idea!

This was the album cover:

This is the layout that I came up with:

First I chose the pink plaid paper and curled the edges, my first attempt at paper curling! Finding the designs for the middle I think is what I spent the most time on, tried so many different papers but couldnt decide what I wanted to use until I found one from Scrapworks named Love in Bloom: Striptease which had all these different strips. I didnt like how the strips were on the page so I cut each out individually and omitted a few strips that I felt didnt suit my page. For the picture I mounted it on a piece of scrap Bazzill (my favorite cardstock) and then took some Tie-Downs from Scotch and used them to add some sparkled fiber around the picture. For the lower half of the page I used Magic Mesh (another favorite of mine) and added a quote from the DCWV Vellum Quote Stacks. For the flowers I used hot pink handmade paper mums from Forever in Time and attached smaller flowers also from the same company. I spent quite a while deciding whether I wanted to stick anything up on the top half but decided it looked fine as it was and most things I tried made it look to busy. I had so much fun working on this layout!

I would love to hear your comments!

Sketch 202

This was a layout i did this weekend for sketch 202 on Scrapbook Challenges. This was the very first sketch I had ever tried so I was a little afraid at how it would turn out. It is fairly simple but I like it and it was fun to do.

Work in Progress

I finally found a background I like!

But oh boy, trying to do the header and getting the text in the right place so far has eluded me XD I will figure it out! Going to accept it as a challenge!

I want to say thank you to the ladies at www.scraptiffany.com for inspiring me to start a blog after participating in their Recycled Blog Hop which I must say was breath-taking to say the least!

Welcome to my new blog!

I am just starting to set my blog up to show completed challenges I have done and eventually would like to give some of my own challenges! Check back soon :)
